Hole size and how they're made. Expanded mesh has 3 mm holes for leaves and bird proofing. Woven EmberGuard is a tighter 2 mm woven aluminium gutter and valley guard that keeps out finer debris too. It's the one we usually suggest for homes that back onto bushland.

Yes. Our Premium Woven Aluminium EmberGuard is a 2 mm woven aluminium gutter and valley guard. Aluminium is non-combustible, and that's what AS 3959 asks of gutter guard in bushfire-prone areas, at every Bushfire Attack Level. Vents and eave gaps fall under a separate rule, so ask us about those when we quote.
