Why It Matters
Old Trees Over Older Rooflines
On the northside, the trees and the houses grew up together. Street trees planted with the suburbs now stand well above low-set brick and tile homes, and something is always coming down: gum leaf and bark, jacaranda flower, broad fig leaves.
Gum nuts are the sneaky ones. They roll to the low point of the gutter and wedge in the downpipe outlet, out of sight from the ground.
The eaves are a northside quirk. Post-war homes here have deep, timber-lined eaves, so when a gutter overflows, the water runs back behind it into the fascia instead of spilling off the front.
Around Everton Park the land drops away in ridges and gullies toward Kedron Brook. On a high-set home on that kind of slope, the back gutter can sit two storeys above the ground, and it's the one that never gets cleaned.

How the Mesh Handles Northside Leaf
The mesh runs along the roofline and over your existing gutters, so nothing needs replacing. Leaf and jacaranda flower collect on top until the wind clears them, and rain drops straight through to the downpipes.
On the terracotta tile common through Chermside and Aspley, the mesh tucks in under the tile edge. On the metal roofs of newer northside builds it's matched to the roof colour, so from the street it reads as part of the roof edge. Every part is aluminium under our proprietary coating.

Will mesh cope with jacaranda flowers?
Yes, and it's one of the drops it helps with most. The flowers stay on top of the mesh, where they dry out and blow away, instead of packing down into a sludge in the gutter.
Can you reach the back gutters on a high-set Everton Park home?
Yes. We plan the ladders and staging for each side of the house at the quote, so the downhill gutters get the same clean and the same mesh as the front.
Is Albany Creek part of your northside run?
