AS 3959:2018 is the Australian Standard for building in bushfire-prone areas, and Queensland has adopted it (opens in a new tab). For gutter and valley guards it asks one thing: if they're fitted, they must be non-combustible. That holds at every Bushfire Attack Level (BAL), up to BAL-40 and Flame Zone. Aluminium is non-combustible, so our mesh meets it.

Vents are a different story, and a lot of people get told otherwise. Ember guards over roof vents, eave gaps and fascia gaps have a separate rule. From BAL-40 up, the standard calls for steel or bronze there, not aluminium.
